HAPPY HOUR. BIG IDEAS. FREE.
This August, the City of Chicago Office of the Mayor, the Metropolitan Planning Council (MPC), Friends of the Chicago River, the Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning, and other partners released Our Great Rivers, the first-ever unifying and forward-looking vision for all three of Chicago’s rivers: the Calumet, Chicago, and Des Plaines Rivers. The vision—by 2040, Chicago’s rivers will be inviting, productive and living places where everyone can have their own experience—was articulated by thousands of stakeholders through an intensive 18-month, citywide visioning process led by MPC. This event is an opportunity to hear about key recommendations from the vision as well as highlights from the extensive public engagement process that helped to shape the vision and action plan for Chicago's rivers, including how the qualitative feedback was collected, coded and analyzed.
Speakers include:
- Kara Riggio, Manager, Metropolitan Planning Council
- John Quail, Director of Watershed Planning, Friends of the Chicago River
- Sarah Cardona, Associate, Metropolitan Planning Council
Presented by APA in partnership with MPC and Friends of the Chicago River.
Networking happy hour starts at 5:30. Speakers begin at 6:00, followed by Q&A.
Refreshments and light snacks provided. VALID ID REQUIRED.
RSVP not required, but encouraged to save your spot--our last event sold out!
