During this meeting, we discussed…

Key Concerns/Challenges:

• Bottlenecks in the river that cause congestion issues and safety concerns for barge and boat operators
• Neighborhoods located near/ on the river do not have adequate access
• Property owners along the river gate off this property so that it’s inaccessible for public recreation

Key Priorities/Opportunities:

•  Use funds generated by economic development along the river to return to the system for cleaning efforts
• Create river development guidelines for the 32^nd ward
• Improve water quality so that in 20 years, fish from the river are healthy enough to eat

Big Ideas:

• Connect bike paths for multiple miles
• Plan for riverfront zoning and density
• Divvy boats?
