During this meeting, we discussed…

Key Concerns/Challenges:

• The water and sediment quality of the rivers is an issue, even with the option of disinfection
• Increase the number of public access points
• Brownfield sites along the riverfront

Key Priorities/Opportunities:

• Shoreline restoration along the South Branch of the Chicago River
• Building trails and connecting them to existing trails to create one continuous riverfront trail

Big Ideas:

• Connect Ping Tom Memorial Park to the Eleanor Boathouse and beyond
• Constructed wetlands on the east bank of Goose Island
• Coordinate with private landowners along the riverfronts to create more areas for public use
