During this meeting, we discussed…

Key Concerns/Challenges:

• It is important to embrace our rivers’ history while also looking for ways to improve the current state of the rivers
• Combined Sewer Overflow
• Changing Chicago natives perspective of the rivers use and the safety of the rivers

Key Priorities/Opportunities:

• Increase public access to the river while maintaining a sense of place in the community
• Nutrient removal at treatment plants
• Traffic plans for different types of users

Big Ideas:

• Water quality can be viewed as a concern, challenge AND opportunity
• Improve the water quality standards currently in place
• Increasing visual access of the rivers from trails along the rivers
