Experience a rich mix of industrial and natural history at the Little Calumet Boat Launch, in unincorporated Riverdale.
The Little Calumet River has two forks. One is a wide channel that can facilitate large transportation vehicles. We'll be exploring the other fork: a narrow, meandering channel that passes through local Forest Preserves of Cook County sites. Keep your eyes open for wildlife, and take a look at some of the restoration work happening along the river!
We will start and end at the Little Calumet Boat Launch in Blue Island (approximately 1500 Jackson Street, Blue Island). Total distance paddled depends on the group's preference.
We will have lunch on the way (please bring your own!) and will finish up around 2:00 p.m.
Our fun, knowledgeable guides will provide safety and paddling instruction plus all of the necessary equipment. Ages 5 and up. Trips cost $45 per person.
