Free Dragon Boating Lessons at Ping Tom Park

The Greater Chicago Dragon Boat Club, Ping Tom Park Advisory Council and the Coalition for a Better Chinese American Community is sharing the Chinese culture with you! On July 21, you will get the opportunity to paddle in the Chicago River for FREE. You will be taught how to paddle in a dragon boat along the south branch of the Chicago River by Ping Tom Park.

Please note that our partners Greater Chicago Dragon Boat Club has a minimum age of 14 for dragon boating and minimum height of 4 ft to reach paddle and fit the smallest life vest. Registration is highly encouraged and will sell out quickly. Registration will be accomodated on event day as well but online registration will be prioritized. Each session is 30 minutes. *Each participant will be asked for a suggested donation of $10/person for us to continue to put these events together. If you are no longer able to attend, please cancel your tickets in advance.
