Friends of the Chicago Portage is one of several Forest Preserves of Cook County Stewardship Volunteer programs. This program supports the historic preservation, ecological restoration and appropriate development of the Chicago Portage National Historic Site through volunteer advocacy, public events and projects that raise public awareness of its history and significance.
