Key Concerns/ Challenges:

• Effective traffic management, especially in the downtown area where recreation is becoming increasingly popular
• Combined sewer overflow
• Coordinate management between various regulatory agencies

Key Priorities/Opportunities:

• Focusing activity and development outside of the downtown area, which is already highly congested with water activity
• Access points for research and public recreation
• Improve habitat for aquatic species

Big Ideas:

• Reestablish wetland vegetation along Lake Calumet and the Calumet River
• Implement kayak and recreation hubs in places like Lake Calumet and the Park District Lagoons
