Key Concerns/Challenges:

• Although the public’s perception of the river has changed, water quality is still a huge concern
• As recreational opportunities on the river continue to expand, traffic management of commercial and recreational boats continues to be an issue

Key Priorities/Opportunities:

• Creating a continuous riverfront trail
• Connecting disconnected areas of riverfront trails through added trails and pedestrian/bicycle bridges
• Creating a larger network of trails in Chicago

Big Ideas:

• Reimagining our larger bridges as spaces for river observation and historical signage
